| | Directions | | Cover raisins with water. Cook until dry. Add cold water. Set aside. Cream shortening, sugar, and egg. Stir in dry ingredients and raisins. Pour into greased 10 x 14 pan and bake at 375° for 30 minutes. Spread with frosting. Frosting: 1/2 C. brown sugar 1/2 C. evaporated milk 1/8 C. shortening 1/4 tsp. salt 1/8 tsp. vanilla 1/4 C. nuts powdered sugar Combine sugar, milk, shortening, salt and vanilla. Beat well and add powdered sugar until thick enough to spread. Spread on cake and sprinkle with nuts. |
