A wine growing region located in the Loire Valley of France that produces light, easy to drink red, white, and rosé wines. White wines from the Sancerre region are made from the Sauvignon Blanc grape variety. Rosé and red wines from the Sancerre region are made from Pinot Noir grape variety.

Characteristics: White wines tend to be fruity, fresh and semi dry. Rosé and red wines are light and fruity with flavors of cherry and violet. Characteristics are those of the grape variety they are produced from.

Food pairings: Pair white with appetizers, oysters, and fish dishes. Pair rosé and red with light chicken and pork dishes.
