Aspartame

An artificial sweetener that is used in many manufactured food products such as diet sodas, candy, mints, and gum. It has nearly 200 times the sweetening power of regular sugar, however, unlike Acesulfame-K, it is affected by heat and looses its sweetness when used in cooking or baking.
