A small fish native to the far North Atlantic. It has a rusty brown-red skin and averages 1½ to 2 feet in length. Torsk is a member of the cod family and it can be prepared like any other type of codfish. It is very popular in Scandinavian countries where the word torsk is actually the name for codfish and the torsk fish is actually called brosme.
