A small charcoal grilling stove that consists of a cast-iron container that may be round, oblong, square, or rectangular in shape. A metal grill or grate is placed over the top of the formed stove to hold the various items to be cooked by braizing the food. Hibachis are smaller in size than standard grills so they are very portable and easy to move about. Originating in China during very early times, the Hibachi was traditionally used to not only cook foods but also to heat rooms within a home. As grills evolved, the Hibachi became an easy way to move cooking procedures from place to place like a portable stove.
