A liquid produced by boiling shredded coconut meat in water and then straining the contents through cheesecloth to extract the liquid from the boiled coconut. Rich in flavor and creamy in texture, Coconut Milk is a common ingredient in Southeast Asian food dishes such as soups, sauces, curry, desserts, and beverages. It is different than the thin, milky liquid found at the center of a coconut known as the coconut water.
