Hi! This is Laurie from RecipeTips.com. Today we are going to be making a simple homemade cranberry sauce that is going to be perfect for the holidays. Start with twelve ounces of fresh cranberries. Rinse them under cold running water, and then go through and remove any soft or blemished cranberries. Once you have the cranberries washed, place them into a saucepan over medium-high heat, and to that you want to add one-half cup of brown sugar, a half a cup of white sugar, and one and a quarter cups of water. Stir this all together and allow it to come up to a boil. Once the cranberries have started to boil, reduce the heat down to medium, and continue to let them boil for another five minutes, stirring occasionally. As the cranberries boil, they will start to burst open, and they will then thicken up and create the sauce. Place the cranberry sauce into a serving bowl, and refrigerate for at least two hours before serving. For more great holiday recipes, visit RecipeTips.com.
