Pineapple Preparation | Pineapple Boat | Tips
Pineapple
A tropical fruit that has a yellow flesh and a prickly peel that has a diamond shaped pattern to it.
Pineapple is a versatile tropical fruit that is used in many types of recipes. It is often used as an ingredient in fruit salads, pies, cakes, and ice cream recipes; it goes very well with ham, pork, chicken, and seafood; it's an excellent fruit for grilling; and it's one of the most delicious fruits eaten as is--no additional ingredients required to enhance the unique flavor.
Steaks and burgers are not the only foods to enjoy on the grill. Add grilled fruits and vegetables to your next cookout menu. Grilling fruit brings out its natural sweetness and the flavor of the grilled vegetables is enhanced when they are lightly charred.
A creative way to present your pineapple and other summer fruit is to use the pineapple as a bowl. One pineapple will provide 2 bowls.
Remove any brown and/or discolored leaves.
