How to Avoid Soggy Pie Crust
If using a moist filling, such as most berry fillings, blind bake the crust before adding the filling to keep crust crisp and flaky.
Bright Green Fresh Peas
For bright green fresh peas, do not overcook. Boil peas for only one minute or steam them for just two minutes to produce bright green cooked peas with a crisp-tender texture.
Roast Pumpkin Seeds in the Microwave
Mix 1 cup of pumpkin seeds with 1 Tbsp. of vegetable oil. Toast in microwave for 2 minutes; stir and continue to toast in 1 minute increments until seeds are at desired crispness.
Prevent Carrots from Wilting When Stored
When storing carrots, remove the tops first because they will draw water from the carrots and cause them to wilt. If carrots wilt, cut one end off and stand them up in a glass of cold water to crisp them up again.
