Swiss Steak 20 Recipe

  • 2 pounds boneless beef round steak, cut into 6 serving pieces
  • 1 package beefy onion soup mix (1 ounce pkg)
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 3 cups onion, sliced
  • 1 can diced tomatoes, undrained (28 ounce can)
  • 3 tablespoons flour
  • 1 cup water
Place steak in 5 qt slow cooker. Sprinkle with soup mix, salt, and pepper. Cover with onion, and tomatoes. Cover and cook on high one hour, then reduce heat to low setting and cook for 6 more hours. Remove steak and vegetables from cooker, reserving broth. Mix flour and water together. Add to broth in cooker, stirring until thickened. Spoon gravy over steak before serving. Makes 4-6 servings.
