  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 cup uncooked long grain rice
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/3 cup onion, diced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon celery salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 2 tablespoons cooking oil
  • SAUCE:
  • 1 can tomato sauce (15 ounce can)
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce

In a bowl, combine ground beef, rice, water, onion, and seasonings.

Shape into 1 1/2-inch balls.

In a large skillet, brown meatballs in oil; drain.

Stir in the sauce ingredients. Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 1 hour.

"Kids love this recipe. I use a large can of crushed tomatoes instead of sauce and I skip the brown sugar. We like more sauce on ours and I serve it over egg noodles."
