Ingredients
  • 1 pound ground turkey or chicken
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tomato, finely chopped
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons Old Bay seasoning
  • salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil
  • 1/2 onion, diced
  • 1/2 red bell pepper, diced
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup carrots, finely diced
  • 1 can mushrooms, drained, finely diced (small can)

In a large bowl, combine meat, breadcrumbs, egg, tomato and seasonings. Mix just until combined.

In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Saute onion, garlic and pepper until softened. Add carrots and mushrooms and heat until desired tenderness; cool.

Preheat grill to medium heat.

Add cooled vegetables to meat mixture and combine. Form into 4 patties.

Coat grill with non-stick spray and cook patties for 4-6 minutes per side.

Serve on wheat or pretzel buns and top with lettuce.

"I made these last night with ground chicken. My girls ate them up on pretzel buns and I thought they were delicious with mustard! I had never used Old Bay on burgers before and it was really good. My husband liked it with pepper jack cheese."
