Butter Pecan Turtle Bars Recipe

Ingredients
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 cup Brown Sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine
  • 1 cup Pecan Halves
  • Caramel layer
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2/3 cup butter or margarine
  • 1 cup milk chocolate chips
Directions
Mix flour, 1 Cup. brown sugar and 1/2 cup butter. Pat firmly into ungreased 9x13-inch baking pan. Sprinkle pecan halves evenly over unbaked crust. Prepare caramel layer by combining 1/2 cup brown sugar and 2/3 cup butter. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until sugar and butter come to a full boil. Boil 1/2 minute. Pour evenly over pecans and crust. Bake 350° for 18-22 minutes, until entire caramel layer is bubbly and crust is golden brown. Remove from heat immediately, sprinkle with chips. Allow chips to melt 2-3 minutes, then swirl chips slightly (do not try to spread chips). Cool completely and cut. Yield: 3-4 dozen bars.
