Ingredients
1 pint fresh strawberries
1/3 cup sugar
1/3 cup light corn syrup
1 tablespoon cornstarch
1/3 cup water
1/2 teaspoon lemon juice
Directions
Wash and hull berries. Cut up enough to make 1/4 cup; mash and mix with sugar and then with corn syrup. Blend cornstarch and water. Combine with mashed berries in sauce pan. Cook over MEDIUM heat, stirring constantly until mixture is thickened and clear. Cut the remaining berries in two. Sprinkle lemon juice over berries. These can be mixed in with sauce or added on top as a garnish.
