Fried Onion Blossom Utensil
Designed for making batter Fried Onion Blossoms, this utensil prepares an onion by shaping and slicing the whole onion so it can be blossomed and ready to fry. Made from plastic or stainless steel, the Fried Onion Blossom tool holds and onion so it can be uniformly sliced into seperate sections. The shaping of the Onion Blossom begins by manually moving a knife down through the slotted guides in the utensil so the onion is sliced into individual sections. After being sliced, the onion is immersed in simmering water, removed from the water and shock cooled in an ice bath, and forced opened into petals or blossoms. The blossomed onion is then dipped in a batter and fried in hot oil to create the Fried Onion Blossom. A core cutter is included with the utensil so the fiberous core of the onion can be removed after being fried. A Fried Onion Blossom is a unique appetizer alternative to Fried Onion Rings.
