Candy Corn
Easter Candy Corn

Made to resemble an enlarged kernel of corn, this sweet confection was first created during the 1800's and continues to be a popular treat today. Traditionally, Candy Corn was a product most often associated with Halloween treats, containing the seasonal colors of orange, yellow and white. Today there are a variety of different colors produced to celebrate other seasonal holidays or celebrations other than Halloween. Cupid corn is made for Valentine's Day with red, pink and white colors while the Candy Corn for Easter contains the pastel colors of yellow, pink, light blue, and light green. The Easter corn is also referred to as Bunny Corn. Fall Indian Corn has brown and white colors to match the chocolate and vanilla flavors of the corn. Christmas Corn, which is colored red, green and white for the seasonal colors and has the commonly sweet Candy Corn flavor, is referred to as Reindeer Corn.

The ingredients used to produce Candy Corn vary, but only slightly and may include sugar, water, corn syrup, fondant, marshmallow, food coloring, and various flavorings. The shape is typically always the same with some minor variations. Candy Corn contains approximately 3.5 calories per piece.
