A traditional Middle Eastern food dish made from finely minced pieces of beef or lamb that are formed into meatballs. This dish combines the meat with various seasonings, such as chili powder, coriander, curry, and other spicy seasonings. The kofta is then stuffed with additional ingredients, baked or poached in a broth, and served in a gravy or sauce, such as tomato gravy or garlic cream sauce. Kofta may be stuffed with fruit, hard-boiled eggs, vegetables, or other ingredients to enhance the flavor of the meat. When served, kofta is often accompanied by bread (naan bread) or rice.
