Matzo
Unleavened cracker bread or flat bread that is baked into thin sheets to be easily broken apart for serving individual pieces. Matzo is a traditional bread made for the Jewish Passover. When served for this event, the bread is to be made only with water and flour produced under strict guidelines so it does not cause the bread to rise resulting in leavened bread. Matzo however, is commonly being served throughout the year as a snack or appetizer cracker, which may be made and seasoned with additional ingredients unlike the traditional recipe. In addition to being served as a cracker bread, Matzo may also be used as an ingredient to make matzo meal (fine or coarse ground cracker meal), matzo dumplings known as matzo balls for matzo soup, or for a variety of puddings and other food dishes. This cracker bread may also be referred to as "matzoh."
