Corn Chip
A snack food made from corn and flour that is shaped and then baked or deep-fat fried resulting in a crispy chip, similar to a potato chip. Corn chips are available in many different flavors, colors, and textures. Red, yellow, blue, black, and white corn chips are commercially produced and chips made with combinations of corn and other grains, such as soybeans, are also available.

Fried corn chips generally contain more calories and fat than baked versions, which are becoming increasingly popular. Other low-fat and low-sodium versions are also popular due to the increasing interest in healthy eating. Corn chips are generally eaten as a snack with salsa or melted cheese, or as an accompaniment for sandwiches, soups, and stews. Tostadas caseras, which are seasoned and fried corn tortillas, are another version of the corn chip.
