A smaller variety of trenne. It is narrower in width than trenne and only 1 ¾ to 2 inches in length. Do not confuse trennette with trenette, which is a different type of pasta. Trenette is a ribbon pasta. If trennette is not available substitute mostaccioli, penne, trenne or ziti.
