If using round steaks, use a meat tenderizer and hammer steaks until thin. Divide large steaks into halves or quarter depending on size of steaks. For cubed steaks I still hammer if needed. In a pie pan add egg and water, beat. Dip steak into egg & water mixture. In another pie pan put bread crumbs, salt and pepper. Put steak into crumbs and pat till both sides are covered. Fry steaks in oil or bacon grease on medium heat, turn so both sides are fried.
-2 beef/elk round steaks or 4 cubed steaks (large)
-1 egg (large)
-1/4 cup water
-3 - 4 cup of smashed dried bread crumbs
- salt & pepper to taste
-1/2 cup oil or bacon grease
