Creamy Beef Stroganoff - Recipe

A warm and comforting meal. The longer you let it simmer the better it gets as the meat gets tender. Enjoyed normally with egg noodles, try orzo for a different take on an old classic.

Creamy Beef Stroganoff Recipe
Directions
Combine 1 tablespoon flour and salt and dredge meat through mixture.

Heat skillet and melt 1 tablespoon butter. Add meat and brown quickly, turning meat to brown on all sides.

Add mushrooms, onions, and garlic and cook for 3-4 minutes, until onions are barely tender.

Remove meat and onions and set aside. Add 2 tablespoons butter to skillet. When melted, blend in 3 tablespoons flour. Add tomato paste. Slowly pour in meat stock, stirring constantly until mixture thickens. Return meat and mushrooms to skillet. Add in sour cream and continue to heat briefly.

Serve over rice or noodles.

-1/2 teaspoon salt
-1 pound beef sirloin
-3 tablespoons butter, divided
-1 cup mushrooms, sliced
-1/2 cup onions, diced
-1 clove garlic, minced
-1 tablespoon tomato paste
-1 1/2 cups beef stock or broth
-1 cup sour cream
-2 tablespoons cooking sherry
