| Melt chocolate in top of double boiler. When close to being melted, add coffee and stir together. Remove from heat. In separate bowl, beat 3 egg yolks and 1 cup sugar, mixing well. Add mixture slowly to melted chocolate and cook over heat until sugar is dissolved. Stir well during cooking. Remove from heat and cool. Beat 4 egg whites until they form soft peaks. Fold into cooled chocolate mixture. Beat cream with 1/2 cup sugar until soft peaks form. Leave out a small amount for garnish. Fold remaining cream into chocolate mixture. Garnish as desired with whipped cream, shaved chocolate, berries. |
