| | Directions | | In a mixing bowl, cream the butter and sugar until fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Mix and sift flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon and mace. Add gradually to egg mixture. Stir in vanilla, apples and walnuts. Batter will be stiff. Spoon into a greased and floured 10 inch tube pan. Bake at 325° for 1-1/2 hours or until toothpick inserted in the cake comes out clean. Cool for 10 minutes in pan and then remove to rack to cool completely. |
