Mix oil and sugar. Add eggs one at a time and beat well. Add flour and other dry ingredients alternately with buttermilk. Beat well. Add vanilla. Mix nuts and fruit with 1/2 cup extra flour. Bake in tube pan at 300° for 1 hour and 15 minutes or until done.
PRUNE CAKE TOPPING:
1/2 C. buttermilk
1 C. sugar
1 stick oleo
1/2 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp. vanilla
Boil 2 minutes; pour over cake in pan. Leave in pan until completely cool.
