Mix sugar and cornstarch together. Bring cinnamon, salt and water to a boil with the apples. Stir in sugar and cornstarch mixture. Add lemon juice and butter. Put in a 9x13 inch pan. (2 large cans of apple pie filling can be used instead of making filling). For topping, mix everything except the butter together, then cut in butter until crumbly. Spread evenly over filling. Bake at 350° until apples are tender and topping is crisp.
