| Directions | Cook sugar and milk over low heat to a soft ball stage. (I use 2 cups of sugar and 1 cup of milk for a 9x13 sheet cake or a 2 layer 9" cake). Soften 1 stick of oleo (I use real butter) and whisk in 1/2 cup of flour. Gradually mix sugar/milk and flour/butter creamed mixture. If it hardens too much, add small amounts of boiling water to soften. There is nothing else to add. This is great. I have the creamed mixture ready to add to the soft ball sugar/milk mixture as soon as it is ready. Remove it from the heat to start adding. |
