| | Directions | | In a mixer bowl, cream together sugar, shortening and butter until light and fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time. beating well after each addition. Stir in vanilla and lemon extract. Thoroughly stir together the flour and baking soda; add to the creamed mixture, alternately with the buttermilk, beating well after each addition. Pour into greased and floured 10 inch tube pan; bake in preheated 325 oven for 1 1/4 hours. Cool in pan 10 minutes, Remove from pan and cool. |
