| | Directions | | Cream the butter and sugar. Add beaten yolks. Melt chocolate; add vanilla and add to batter. Fold in stiffly beaten egg whites and salt. One-half cup of chopped nuts may be added. Spread half of crushed wafers in a buttered shallow pan. Spoon on remaining crumbs. Refrigerate 24 hours. Cut in squares to serve. Serves 8 to 12 people. Use 9 by 9 - inch or 6 by 10- inch pan. |
