Place cake mix in bowl. Combine water, eggs, and vanilla. Beat well. Add to cake mix and beat for 3 minutes. Add 2 cups ice cream; beat 2-3 minutes. Pour into well-greased and floured tube pan. Cook at 350 degrees for 45 minutes. Frost with caramel icing.
Icing:
Put butter and brown sugar in saucepan; melt. When it begins to boil, add milk and vanilla. Bring back to a boil for 2 minutes; stirring continuously. Take off heat, let cool at room temperature. Add powdered sugar. Frost cake.
