| | Directions | | Sift flour, baking powder, and salt together. Cream butter with sugar and vanilla until very fluffy. Add whole egg (one at a time. Beat well after each egg. Add sifted dry ingredients and milk (to which vanilla has been added) alternately in small amounts making sure to beat after each addition. Pour batter into a tube pan which has been greased and dusted with flour. Bake in moderate oven, 375° for 45 to 50 minutes. Test with a toothpick to see if the cake is done. Cool. NOTE: This will also make three 9" layers. |
