- Brown sausage in large Dutch oven over medium heat.
- Drain fat, leaving 1 tablespoon fat in pot.
- Stir in green pepper, onion, and garlic. Cook and stir about 8 minutes.
- Add remaining ingredients. Simmer for about 1 hour or until thickened.
- Garnish with chopped tomatoes and shredded cheese.
