| Directions | Whip together first 4 ingredients. Add vanilla and stir. Add flour combination alternately with buttermilk mixture, beginning and ending with flour. Preheat oven to 350°F. Drop by 1/4 C mounds on greased cookie sheets. Flatten with spatula or glass dipped in sugar to about 1/2 inch. Sprinkle with additional sugar. Bake about 15 minutes or until lightly browned edges. Variation Add 1 - 1 1/2 C plumped raisins after vanilla. Increase flour by 1/4 C. |
