Boil syrup, sugar, butter and salt for 5 minutes.

Add soda and vanilla.

Pour mixture over popped popcorn and peanuts, if desired. Mix and bake at 200 degrees F stirring every 15 minutes until corn is covered with mixture.

Remove from oven and spread to cool.

-1/2 cup white corn syrup
-2 cups brown sugar, packed
-1 cup butter
-1 teaspoon salt
-1 teaspoon soda
-1 teaspoon vanilla
-6 quarts popped popcorn
-1 cup peanuts (optional)
