Filling: Mix all ingredients together and set aside.
Dough: Cream Margarine, sugar and eggs well. Add spices and baking soda and lastly flour. Divide in 1/2 and press into a 9 x 13" pan. Put filling in between and press in remaining dough. Brush with a beaten egg and a little milk. Garnish with almond halves if desired. Bake at 325° F for 30 minutes or until golden brown. Let sit until cold then cut.
