Apple Cake with Butter Sauce - Recipe

A great fall dessert or perfect for brunch. The cake is so moist with the apples and the butter sauce makes it sinful. Serve it with a dollup of whipped cream.

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Cream together sugar and butter. Add eggs one at a time. Fold in the apples. Sift together flour, salt, soda, nutmeg, and cinnamon. Combine with the apple mixture. Pour batter into greased 9x13 inch pan.
  • Bake for 45-50 minutes.
  • Just before serving, prepare sauce by dissolving sugar in butter over medium heat. Add cream and vanilla; cook until heated through. Serve over apple cake.
