Dutch Apple Pie Bars - Recipe

Directions
Crust:

Mix flour, shortening and salt until crumbly. Stir in water until mixture forms a ball. Roll out on floured surface to fit a 9" x 13" pan; flute edges.

Filling:

Combine ingredients and pour into crust.

Topping:

Mix together the flour and brown sugar. Cut butter into flour mixture. Sprinkle over top of apples.

Bake at 350° for 30 minutes or until top is browned and filling is bubbly.

-1 1/2 cups flour
-1/2 cup + 2 T. shortening
-3/4 teaspoon salt
-1/3 cup cold water
- Filling
-5 cups peeled, cored, sliced apples
-1 cup Sugar
-2 teaspoons cinnamon
-3 tablespoons flour
- Topping
-1 cup flour
-1/2 cup brown sugar
-1/2 cup butter or margarine
