| | Directions | | Combine flour, baking powder, salt, pepper, ham and cheese. Add shortening and work it into the dry ingredients until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs (your hands work best). Fold in milk. Dough will be very sticky. Dust work surface with flour and turn out dough. Gently fold each side toward the center. Dust surface again and fold again. Turn dough over and press to 1" thickness. Cut biscuits and place on baking sheet. Bake in 350° oven for about 20 minutes. Serve warm. |
