Cucumber Canapes - Recipe

The cool, fresh taste of cucumbers and the savory flavor of an herbed cream cheese and mayonnaise spread make an excellent flavor and texture combination in this tasty canape.

  • In a food processor or blender, combine the mayo, cream cheese, green onion, vinegar, Worchestershire sauce, garlic and seasonings. Process until blended.
  • Cover and refrigerator for 24 hours.
  • Spread mayo mixture on each square of bread, top with a cucumber slice and garnish with chopped red pepper and dill.

Container: blender or food processor, medium bowl, serving platter
-1 cup mayonnaise
-3 ounces cream cheese - softened
-1 1/2 tablespoons green onions - chopped
-1/2 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
-1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
-1 clove garlic - minced
-1/4 teaspoon paprika
-1/4 teaspoon curry powder
-1/8 teaspoon oregano - dried
-1/8 teaspoon thyme - dried
-1/8 teaspoon basil - dried
-1/8 teaspoon dill - dried
-1 tablespoon parsley fresh - chopped
-1 bread loaf - rye or pumpernickle mini squares
-2 cucumber - scored and thinly sliced
- sweet red peppers - diced for garnish
- dill for garnish
