| Directions | Pour 1 C. boiling water in 2 tsp. baking soda, mix and pour over 1 1/2 C. raisins in a small bowl. Cool. Mix oil, salt, egg, sugar, flour, bran flakes, and walnuts. Add to cooled raisin, soda and water mixture. Bake in 3 well greased #2 vegetable cans. Fill slightly over half full. Bake for 10 minutes at 350°. Lower temperature to 325° and continue to bake for 40 minutes. Cool on rack and remove from cans. |
