Mix sour dough starter, flour, oil, salt and soda together. Drop into greased muffin tins. Bake at 350° for 15-20 minutes. Do not let them get too brown. This recipe can be used for shortcake. VARIATIONS: Muffins: previous recipe plus 1 egg and blueberries, if desired. Pancakes: previous recipe plus 1 egg and 3/4 cup milk, bake as usual. Cornbread: previous recipe plus 1 egg, 1/4 cup sugar and 1 cup corn meal. |
