- Wash and trim rhubarb. Slice ribs about 1/2 inch thick.
- Put all ingredients except vanilla into a saucepan and simmer until rhubarb is soft, about 10 minutes. Stir in vanilla.
- Use sauce warm or chill. Keeps, refrigerated and covered, for a week or more.
