Beat sugar and eggs. Add mixture to milk while milk is cold. Cook in double boiler and stir constantly until spoon coats with the milk and looks a little thick. Take off heat and set pan in cold water. Stir occasionally to keep from curdling, until it's cold. Add 1 tablespoon vanilla. Refrigerate.
-1/2 gallon milk
-1 cup Sugar
-6 whole eggs
-1 tablespoon vanilla
