Directions
  • In a large bowl, slice cucumbers and onions.
  • In a medium sauce pan, combine vinegar, sugar, and spices; bring the mixture to a boil, and allow to boil for 2 minutes.
  • Remove from heat, allow to cool, and then pour over cucumbers and onions.
  • Cover and refrigerate. The pickles are best if refrigerated for 1 to 2 days before eating.

-9 cucumbers (6 to 8 inches long), peeled and sliced
-1 to 2 medium onions, peeled and sliced
-3 cups vinegar
-3 cups granulated sugar
-1 teaspoon mustard seed
-1 teaspoon turmeric
-1 teaspoon celery seed
-1 teaspoon salt
