| Directions | Wash tomatoes, and cut into 1/2 inch slices. Soak for 1 hour in cold, salted water. Add sugar, pepper, and salt to beaten egg. Dip each tomato slice in mixture, and then in bread crumbs. Fry on both sides in butter until brown. |
