Grandma's Oatmeal Bread - Recipe

view recipe online:

Put oats and butter in a small bowl; pour boiling water over the oats. In another bowl beat the egg slightly and then add the honey and molasses. Mix well. When oats have cooled, but are still a little bit warm, add the oatmeal mixture to the egg, honey and molasses mixture. Mix well. Pour this mixture into the bread machine. Sift together the flour and salt and add to the bread machine. Sprinkle the yeast on top of the flour. Bake on light setting. Makes a 1 1/2 lb. loaf. I set bread machine for the dough cycle and then I take it out and knead it and put in loaf pan and let rise. Bake at 375° for 30 minutes.
