| | Directions | | Mix flour, sugar, salt and shortening as for pie. Take out 1 cup of crumbs for topping. To the remaining crumbs add beaten egg, then molasses and warm water. Blend well. Add soda which has been dissolved in a little water. Place in a 10x13x2 baking pan and bake in 325-350° oven for about 30-45 minutes. |
