Combine eggs, salt, sugar, milk and almond extract in shallow dish. Dip bread into the mixture, coat each side. Place on a well greased cookie sheet. Brown in 450° oven for 7 minutes. Turn and continue browning. Sift powdered sugar over each piece before serving. Serve with strawberry butter (see below).
1/2 C. Soft butter
1 (10 oz.) pkg. Frozen strawberries, thawed
1/3 C. Powdered sugar
Whip butter until creamy. Drain juice from berries. Gradually add berries to butter, beating well after each addition. Beat in sugar. Chill until serving time. Serve with almond french toast.
2 eggs, slightly beaten
Pinch of salt
2 tablespoons sugar
1 cup milk
1/2 teaspoon almond extract
12 slices bread
