Grease 13 x 9 or 13 x 11 baking dish. Whip together: eggs, milk and maple syrup. Place half of the bread into the baking dish. Spread cream cheese over the bread. Top with remaining bread. Pour egg mixture over bread. Cover and refrigerate overnight. Bake uncovered at 350° for 30-40 minutes or until golden brown and knife comes out clean. Serve with additional maple syrup, heated, and freshly grated cinnamon if desired.

-1 1/2 cups milk
-1/3 cup maple syrup
-1 pound firm, day-old white bread (or any dense artisan bread), cut into cubes
-1 package cream cheese, cut into small pieces (8 ounce pkg)
