Brown ground beef with onions. Drain off excess fat and transfer to a casserole dish. Add layer of sliced raw potatoes. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Layer mushrooms on top of potatoes. Spread soup over mushrooms. Bake at 350 degrees for 35-40 minutes or until potatoes are done. Sprinkle shredded cheese over top and bake about 5 minutes until cheese is melted.
